Mr. Chips changed his more commodious apartments in School House and lodged in his old original bachelor quarters.

Mr. Chips became different man after his wife’s death. He was fifty years old at that time. His hair became grey and he looked old. But he was still active and did not lose interest in his work.

03. Which thing of Mr. Chips was a subject of amusement for the school? What was its condition?

The gown of Mr. Chips was a subject of amusement for the school. The boys used to make fun of his old gown. It was very old, faded and torn at different places.

04. How did Mr. Chips take call over?

Mr. Chips stood on a wooden bench by Big Hall steps to take call over. He held a long sheet of paper in his hands. Every boy spoke his name while passing and Mr. Chips tick it on the paper. He wrote his spectacles, his eyebrows lifted up and he looked funny.

05. Who was Lloyd George and what did Mr. Chips say to him when he came to Brookfield?

Mr. Lloyd George was the Prime Minister of England. When he came to Brookfield as a Guest of Honour, Mr. Chips said to him that he had improved a lot as he was not a good student.
